Can You Tell How Many Pages You Have Read on a Kindle?

When Amazon.com first introduced its Kindle e-readers, users could mark the progress they made on a book in one of two ways: by the percentage of the book they'd completed or by location number, which corresponded to specific points in the text. Given the many different sizes of screens users would be viewing text on with the Kindle app, it made sense that an e-book page on an iPhone couldn't possibly contain the same amount of text as an e-book page on an iPad. However, many Kindle users still found traditional pagination useful, so in February 2011, Amazon.com released a firmware update that allowed users to quickly see page numbers in their Kindle library

Instructions

1. Launch the book on your Kindle and navigate to the location in the book for which you want to see the page number.

2. Press the "Menu" button.

3. Locate the bottom bar on the page. If Amazon.com has configured the book you're reading to display traditional page numbers, the page you're currently on displays between the percentage of the book you've completed and the Amazon.com location number of the text.

Tips & Warnings

For books that have page numeration enabled, you can see the page number in the iOS and Android Kindle apps by tapping the screen on any page of the book. The page number displays at the bottom next to the progress bar and the percentage completed.

Not all Kindle books have page numbers enabled. If you don't see a "Page [Number] of [Number]" at the bottom of your screen when you press the "Menu" button on your Kindle, the book you're reading does not have this feature.

At the time of publication, Kindle Fire does not support the page-number feature. Only Kindle 3 with a firmware update of version 3.1 or greater supports this feature.
